A valued client - a leading UK power generation solutions provider - approached ADE to design and manufacture a bespoke acoustic enclosure to house their 2250 kVA Mitsubishi diesel generator. The overall solution required acoustic attenuation to a noise level of 80 dB(A) at 1m, alongside bulk and day fuel storage to support reliable operation for critical healthcare infrastructure.
ADE designed and manufactured a precision-engineered acoustic enclosure, complete with a 1,600 litre day tank mounted internally under the air inlet for space efficiency. The enclosure also incorporated motorised air inlet and gravity outlet dampers, a recessed box silencer to meet strict site height limitations, and a bunded floor with dual bund alarms for enhanced environmental protection. The silencer was grit-blasted and received a hot metal spray finish for long-term corrosion resistance.
In addition, ADE designed and manufactured a 31,000 litre bulk belly tank, which was fabricated to BS 799-5 standards along with the day tank. Both the enclosure and bulk tank were supplied with a C4M-rated paint finish for superior corrosion protection. An externally-mounted vertical outlet duct completed the package.
The enclosure and external fuel tank were dispatched to our client for generator set and auxiliary equipment integration prior to delivery and installation at a UK infirmary, where the system will provide critical emergency backup power.
This project further demonstrates ADE’s capabilities in delivering bespoke acoustic and fuel storage solutions for mission-critical standby power applications.
