Our client for this project was Innomotics Motors and Large Drives Ltd - a leading provider of innovative electrical solutions, specialising in motors, generators, and drive systems for various industries.
Innomotics won a key contract to supply a suite of Variable Speed Drives to a UK power station that is undergoing essential upgrades.
As a result, they chose ADE to design and manufacture a robust and secure bespoke modular enclosure to house their essential equipment.
ADE designed and manufactured an 8m long, 3.5m wide, 4.2m high enclosure with 60 minute fire integrity, complete with 2 sets of double access doors for both equipment and personnel. Due to the installation site’s environment, the enclosure was painted with C5 paint for increased protection.
Following fabrication and painting, Innomotics’ engineers fit out the enclosure with their key equipment, which is designed to improve the energy efficiency of power stations, helping to reduce operational costs and environmental impact. They also installed a 25 kW split HVAC system, small light and power, and other necessary auxiliary systems.
In addition to the enclosure itself, ADE also designed and manufactured a 0.8m high substructure, complete with an access platform and stairs, to BS EN 1090-2 standards for steel structures.
Following Factory Acceptance Testing, the completed enclosure and supporting structures were loaded to transport and delivered to site for installation and commissioning by Innomotics’ site engineers.
