Acoustically Packaged Standby Diesel Generator for a UK Prison

Our client for this project, a specialist UK provider of M&E services, won a contract to provide several electrical and mechanical services for a UK prison.

Part of the contract included the supply of a new emergency standby diesel generator system to support the new critical infrastructure.

As a result, ADE were awarded the contract to:

Supply a Cummins C1100D5B - 1100 kVA emergency standby diesel generator.

Design and manufacture a bespoke acoustic enclosure, attenuated to 65 dB(A) at 1m, including full mechanical and electrical fit-out of the generator set and other key equipment/features such as:

An ADE designed and manufactured 1,700 litre day fuel tank.

An external cable link box.

Roof-mounted cylindrical silencers.

Fixed blade weather louvres on both the air inlet and outlet.

Motorised air inlet dampers.

Gravity air outlet dampers.

Small light and power.

Other auxiliary equipment.

Design and manufacture a 33,000 litre bespoke bulk fuel tank complete with a hydrostatic gauge, an overfill alarm, overfill prevention, a fuel polisher, valves, and sockets, as well as a duplex pump and a control panel, to manage fuel transfer to the day tank located inside the generator enclosure.
